So it was quite windy here on Friday. When it’s windy, you know the kids are going to be crazy. I was prepared for that. I was also prepared for the difficulty I would experience while giving a benchmark test from the district that was very hard and that the kids weren’t expecting. We were supposed to give it before break, but the district was behind and just didn’t come through. This would be hard, but I had a review activity worked up. It was going to be ok. What I was not prepared for was the fire alarm going off at least two times a period from period three to period 6. I was also not prepared for going to heat up my lunch in the office only to find the fire alarm box complete with instructions for how to turn it off posted conveniently next to it. I was not prepared for the chaos of walkie calls looking for the custodian to ask how to turn the fire alarm off for the 6th time that morning. I don’t understand. There are 10 people working in the office. No one can come look at this paper and figure out how to turn the stupid thing off so that class can go on like normal? I informed the principal of this paper, and we navigated the difficult instructions of pushing two buttons together. All things considered, I only had one class that was terrible in this situation. But I still don’t understand…

Under 100
Posted in Work on January 11, 2009 by irrationalSo there are under 100 days of school left. Even though we’re not even half way through yet, under 100 always makes me feel like I’m almost there. The end of the semester is around the corner, and I will make it!
